Well, I’m moving. This will be my last week on 14th Street, before I move to Logan Circle. No longer will I spend two beautiful hours a day on or waiting for the 54. Here are my goodbyes:
Goodbye little girl at my bus stop who wanted to be a grey kitty for Halloween.
Goodbye man who works at 14th and F Street and always wears a hat.
Goodbye girl who loves yellow and has a cute haircut.
Goodbye faceless prophet, who posts the warnings of scripture.
Goodbye mean bus driver who speaks Spanish and never lets anyone ride for free.
Goodbye girl from Eastern Europe who we think pretends to be talking on her cell phone and has a gold tooth.
Goodbye guy with dreadlocks and fanny pack that I always see on U Street.
Goodbye Anthony.
Goodbye Sandrita, and our 8am chats that always give me perspective.
Goodbye 14th Street Angel.
Goodbye skinny man with earrings and spiked hair, who must be a salesman.
Goodbye vagabond who always boards at K Street with mountaineer backpack.
Goodbye Mormon lady who gives me religious tracks in Spanish.

Goodbye Howard students in hot boots.
Goodbye crazy lady in American flag bandana.
Goodbye smart little boy who goes to school “by the flags.”
I haven’t decided what will become of the blog. I think I may begin walking to work each day which would ruin the angle here. But stay tuned, more on life in the district is soon to follow.
Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays!
Love,
Jess

I have enjoyed your blog. Sorry to see it end. But it will be nice to have you closer.
Best, Caroline
that's what you get for being efficient. Had you procrastinated just a few more (I think it was 2) days longer you could have been living in my Columbia Heights mansion. 13th street is only a block away from all kinds of 52, 53, and 54 buses. Plus just a 5 minute walk to “hola mami” from the dudes loitering outside of the Mount Pleasant 7-11.
The early bird may get the worm, but who wants worms? ‘Tis better to trust in God, for all things will unfold according to His plan. Least that’s what the Televangelists tell me. Shoulda spent more time watching channel 23 and less time on the craigslist. Everything worked out for you here, but don’t ever make that mistake again
Jess, your postings are really something. I'm going to Fresas later for coffee and chocolate cake. Email me if you want to go: dholmstr@yahoo.com. I would email you, but your address isn't posted. I wrote a whole blog about it: www.spuriousapathy.blogspot.com
